Redirecting my "Clean Energy Benefit"

Ontario is fighting a deficit. That means each month the 10% "Clean Energy Benefit" is paid for by new debt. I can't put an end that that right now, but at least I can put my money where my mouth is by redirecting the money that was "borrowed on my behalf" to useful purposes.

This month $11.59 goes to Causeway Work Centre for the good work they do in Ottawa. Like RightBike and Cycle Salvation.

Here's the donation link to Causeway if you'd like to get out your Hydro bill and change how your money is being spent.

Ontario will be on the hook for about $7 in interest charges on the original $11 borrowed this month (20yr term, 5% interest rate). For a little background on how debt happens in Ontario see my previous post about Ontario Bonds.
